We’re pleased to announce the results of our Top Portfolio Manager contest for investors. Every quarter, investors compete to assemble and manage the most lucrative investment portfolio.
The prize fund of 1,800 USD is shared among the top 3 participants. We’d like to offer our congratulations to all the prize winners, and we’d like to share a short interview with the overall winner, who shared with us some of the secrets of their success:
1st place: Nikita Andreevich, prize: 1,000 USD.
Portfolio: Nice Dream
Hi Nikita! Tell us a little bit about yourself, have you been investing for a long time?
I’ve been interested in investing for more than 10 years now.
How did you hear about Alpari and what made you decide to take part in the contest?
I’ve known about Alpari for a while. I chose this company because it’s one of the most reliable and well-known brokers, which makes it less risky. I decided to take part in the contest to test and improve my investment skills and to compete against other investors.
What was your most important criterion for selecting PAMM accounts for your portfolio?
The most important thing for me in my selection was the manager’s experience and reliability. This is an even higher priority than the stability of the account itself, because it’s important for me to know that if the account starts making a loss, the manager won’t just disappear, as is often the case, and will continue working to try and make a profit.
Did you change the composition of your portfolio at all or is your success down to a solid choice of managers?
I did change up the accounts in my portfolio a couple of times.
Did you get any new investors in your portfolio during the contest round? Did this have any effect on your work?
I didn’t get any new investors during the contest, although one person has joined since the round ended.
What are your plans for the future? Do you plan to continue working with this portfolio and to attract investors?
Yes, I plan to continue developing this portfolio and attract investment.
Do you have any plans to make a more profitable portfolio? Or perhaps one with lower risks?
I’m planning to make several more portfolios both with higher profits and lower risks.
What advice would you give to novice investors?
I’d tell them to never forget about risks, and that they shouldn’t invest in PAMM accounts themselves unless they plan to gain a deep understanding of how they work, but rather they should invest only in PAMM portfolios. Even then, they should spread their risk by investing in at least 3 different portfolios.
2nd place: Sergey Stanislavovich — prize: 500 USD.
3rd place: Vladimir Nikolaevich — prize: 300 USD.
Portfolio: Successful investment
