By the end of 2016, the international Alpari brand reached a trading turnover in key markets of over 1 trillion USD. The turnover share of the most popular instruments - EURUSD, GBPUSD and USDJPY - has remained, as before, at a high level, totaling 68.5%. Last year saw the trading turnover on some currency pairs increase significantly. The most notable gains were seen on the GBPJPY, EURCHF and EURGBP currency pairs, whose turnovers increased by 102%, 50% and 40% respectively.
It's important to note that in the last year, gold trading has generated considerably more interest among traders than in the past. Trading turnover on the XAUUSD instrument throughout 2016, for example, was 63% higher than that of 2015.
An equally steady flow of customers during the last year was observed on our investment instruments: PAMM Accounts and PAMM Portfolios.
2016 was marked by some important developments in the brand's history. In its first year of Forex market regulation, the Russian company "Alpari Forex" received a licence from the Bank of Russia, certifying it to operate as a Forex dealer.
Social responsibility has always been a major concern of the brand in many of the countries in which it operates. The Alpari Charitable Fund, which was set up over 10 years ago, donated a total of 260,000 USD and held 126 events for over 3,600 trusts in 2016. In addition, last year, Alpari actively sponsored "Zenit St. Petersburg", one of Russia's strongest football clubs, as well as the distinguished Russian grandmaster Sergey Karyakin.
